I go to the supermarket alot, mostly because I only buy just the amount of things that I can survive on for like two weeks or so. I am not one of those people who keeps a long line of people waiting because they have bought so much stuff they could feed a small army or a very fat man. When these shopping cart people aren;t holding up the line, they are blocking up the isles and doubling parking their shopping karts. And if that isn't bad enough after you finally get what you want, you reach the cashier and guess who pops in front of you? Yup a shopping cart full of cheese tricks and a million other items. omfg. And to top it all off the first 2 credit cards that are used by the shopping cart fool are expired. How many credit cards can one person have?
Not only do they look silly but they are ignorant to the fact that pushing a shopping cart is not a form of exercise. Only reason I see you should be using a shopping cart is if you are; buying bags of feed or bulk sugar, carrying a small child that has the tendency to throw stuff, buying a cake or food for a party.

I'm assuming its all make that works there else there would need to be some space for baggage.

Since I've moved to Kingston/Portmore, Labour day seems to be closely associated with the word "beach". I remember when I lived in the country you couldn't even sleep past 6 o'clock. They put the actual "labour" into to labour day. Now I'm as lazy as the common Joe, mostly because I'm a old man and I'm conserving my fat reserves for the winter. But back in the day "when I was a boy", no rock was left un-white-washed or lime-stoned, (whatever they call that white powdered paint). The multiple little projects and the streets in the my community would be "spic and pan" (clean) by lunch time which was important because man caan work without food.
I guess times have changed. Its hard to organize anything in communities like Portmore when the people who live there are like duppy at a nine-night. Even the movie theatre closed 2 years ago - THE ONLY movie theater. But I guess people got to hustle the money. I imagine that the design of the "quads", adds to the whole lack of "community spirit". When you can see two neighbors but only hear the other two through the walls at late hours of the night building furniture, taking it apart or whatever construction them doing.
Back in the country where we used to have 20 to 30 families living in a circle on the side of hills. I remember one time when the entire community gathered to watch me bath in the back yard, time of my life. Flash forward several years later when people live, like rows of corn and a community has a 100 families living and working at all hours, it would be pretty hard to organize anything, much less build a air of trust and camaraderie with each other. There are are small groups here and there, I not even going to mention church people, thats a whole other post. Times change, people change, money changes, maybe we need a "Labour Week" to get things organized. We have the key in or hands all we have to do is find the lock. Off to the beach!

If you saw ME in a police car what would you think I got arrested for?
ESTEBAN AGOSTO REID answered: I would not think that you were being arrested for anything, if I saw you in a police vehicle. On the contrary, I would be of the perspective, that you were/are being a responsible citizen, exercising your civic duty, by assisting law enforcement, in some form or capacity to resolve some form of crime, by furnishing the authorities with the pertinent information, to resolve the crime or criminal issue at hand. Also,I would not consider you an INFORMA in the pejorative use of the term, but just a law abiding citizen DOING THE RIGHT THING. Nonetheless, since you ask the question, I would probably say, you were picked up---arrested--- for using expletives, jay walking, or mistaken identity.Nuff respect, Star!! ... read 16 more
If amazon sends me another hot deal on a HD tv I'm going to flip the F out. For every silly/useless forward/chain letter that you send me I will re-send you twice the amount from an even more annoying person. Its just a matter of time before you can order pets with fluorescent genes.
Somehow I ended my in BK and bought a Cinnamon Roll. It was just a one time thing (because they had run out of pie). Vitamin A 15%, Calcium 35%, Iron 15% and lots of sugar, cholesteral, sat fat, sodium. I mean, yes, I know it was made in a bakery somewhere in Chicago. I curse my self and pray forgiveness everyday for buying something that was not made in Jamaica. but damn it - it was simply yummy.
People make life much worst than it has to be. On a whole we are a failed species. The future is not ours to see, whatever will be, will be. Que sera, sera.
