I have not watched one of these superhero movies in the theater is a longtime. I think the last one was "doctor strange multiverse", not sure if I wrote a review for that one, probably forgot because these movies come out so often that there is no point to them really.
Anyway I watched this one in passive 3d. I think this is my first passive 3d experience. the thing I noticed instantly with p3d is that the video is always blurry if you dont use the glasses. Though the 3d effect is more seamless and not as cheap looking as active 3d.
As far as the movie is concerned - this being my first "guardians" movie. I noticed the formula instantly; 1. intense action 2. random hit song 3. joke section 4. monologue 5. rinse and repeat 1
I tried to convince everyone to see the mario movie instead but this movie won out. They enjoyed it because the "funny" sections were funny, not sure what they thought about the ugly aliens. For me I quickly grew annoyed because I could smell these sections coming from a mile away. Its see-saw story telling.
The director/writer would setup situations where characters would just argue over the dumbest things for the sake of momentary comedy. I tried to sleep through it but failed. Every shot is a setup for another shot or event - its not a matter of IF the event will happen but more like WHEN. Because you know its going to happen for certain. The graphics is good, the sets are impressive but this is a souless, pointless movie. 6 out of 10. IF you love superhero movies you will love it.
On this day I game myself the challenge to only shoot in vertical orientation. At first it seemed to be more difficult but it actually turned out pretty well. Also holding the camera in this orientation seems to attract less attention that normal. I took roughly 100 pictures in a 1 hour period.
Box food in Jamaica is really inconsistent. You either like it or you dont. Sometimes its good, sometimes the rice is dry, sometimes you get too much rice, too much gravy, wrong cut, too few red peas. Its choas.
I am just here chilling getting old along with everyone else. I have no idea what tomorrow may bring. I just hope for the best while I consider if this is the best point in time to go to the microwave to heat my food. Or should I wait another minute. Is there ever a right time? There is never a right time. Time is a constant battle even though I consume it like train with no breaks.
We will not know what is keeping you up all night unless you tell us. It is best you pray heaven can stop you before you fall into a life of crime. Another doctor's bill, a lawyer's bill. Another cute cheap thrill. Everything is as it should. You have got to enjoy the ride. I keep saying this because I mean it. I might forget to say it when I meet you which is why I write it down because I cannot ride and whistle.
Some things come with time. You can only be at one place at a time so it puts certain constraints on what you can know. Or what you can experience. Your view of the world is limited to the space you can inhibit. Though you may be several places and experience alot over the span of time you invariably "end up" at one place. A shifting and continuous place that is in the now. The ever present. The glimmer of the past in the back of your head is only that.
I dont get to watch horrow movies as much as I used to but this had a certain level of potential to it. So when I saw Prt 2 pop up on Netflix I had to dive in. Part I was good up until the stupidity at the end but I relished the sound design. The common hollywood tropes exist in this watchable but stereotypical survival horror flick. I was really rooting for the characters but the director/writer always feels the need to foreshadow everything. It is very annoying in a "final destination" kinda way. If they show you a cup that cup is going to cause the world to explode in a later scene.
My beef with these survival horror movies is that the characters could be living happily for years, being efficient survivers and as soon as the movies starts they start being clumsy and make stupid mistakes. All thier years of experiences that led them to this point gets tossed out the window. Get ready to sigh in disbelief.
The atmosphere is good, the setting, the graphics. My rating 7/10 would recommend to horrow fans.
