Spend less time looking at the world as if it is happening to you. Think of it as everything is happening "with you". We are all in this together. We spend so much time watching everything happen around us we get surprised when something bad happens to us. We get angry or annoyed with the fact of life. With so many things happening all the time, all around us it is easy to think of yourself as a part from all the chaos. The reality is that we are all passengers in the same car that is driving down the road. When bad things happen it happens to all of us. It is not only wishful thinking to think on the good things. One must think on the bad things as well. One must empathize with others. Stop being an angry bird.
I need to keep writing and resist the urge to switch to another tab. To not be consumed by quick and easy tasks that rob my time. The brain can only focus on 1 or 2 things. A clear mind with a defined goal is a wonderful thing. I can always switch to that other tab after I am finished with this logbook entry. The tab really is not going anywhere. In fact I should probably close these 20 open tabs and go back to the start. Free my running memory. [minutes later]. I am back now, closed 2 tabs.
The older I get the more I avoid chaos. I like to be somewhere and know what to expect. I am beginning to loath the journey even though much of everything is a journey. But I am trying to be more present and in the moment. Or maybe I have always been like this? Maybe I am just refining my younger self. Who knows. You can set out to do one thing then get totally side tracked by something that happens along the way. To see you again makes me smile. Misery loves company. Do not take too much stock in your own strengths.
