2008 year in review (Redux)

Wow. 2008 Done already. Alot of good times and alot of wonderful friends, great posts, good photos, good music. Thank you for the memories. Special thanx to the people who made it a great year. I could go into making lists and charts of top stuff but I'm not going to. Happy holidays to you and yours. Don't make any resolutions you can't keep. Seeya next year.

Stuff that Happened

I spent most of the early part of the year coding the news section and learning about java and office politics.
Had one of the most annoying relationships ever.
My shiny new job broke up with me.
The total and utter failure of the Bodyshots category. Thats the last time I take spontaneous advice on categories.
I learnt a very important lesson about why you should talk to strangers.
Olympic Fever took over in August.
In february I watched people and ate bad chinese food from asians.
I got hooked on those african movies while flow tried to monpolize the country.
In May went to see if I contracted something. No not that one, the other one.
I rejoined the workforce and then got financially harased by western union.
blank space. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, its just means that I wasn't a complete selfish douche, during that time.
In September my phone ran out of free space

October 2007 (Redux)

Well what can I say this was one rainy month and it looks to end the same way that it begun with more ninja rain. Though at least it gives me a excuse break dress code and wear my reebuks to work - yay - the perfect mesh of functionality, design and comfort like a gift from God.

I only made 2 entries in the logbook this month, I've been sleeping and reading mapper/packer theory more than usual and the other post about how a muse inspires me. Watched a couple movies and posted up the reviews. A couple questions where posted as well especially the one about the lack of baby daddy pics on women's profiles which nobody seemed to be able to come up with a good answer.

Got a lucky pic while crossing traffic. I made it into a wallpaper.

Owentitist sounds like a rare desease that you get when you leave the mackerel in the can after you open it, wierd but nice try guys - I suggest we all get back to our day jobs now. I may have missed some stuff.

Clark hornbell on bank tellers (Redux)

Luck was with me today, and when my turn came, I was directed to the teller with the nice asset management skills. I puffed my chest out ever so slightly, and explained to her what I needed to do. She smiled. I smiled. Things were going well.
Then she just kept on smiling. She didnt pick up a pen, nor did she grab a form to fill out. The silence grew thick with awkwardness. Maybe she didnâ€™t hear me?

why, mr. anderson, why? why, why do you do it? why, why get up? why keep fighting? do you believe you're fighting for something, for more than your survival? can you tell me what it is, do you even know? is it freedom or truth, perhaps peace - could it be for love? illusions, mr. anderson, vagaries of perception. temporary constructs of a feeble human intellect trying desperately to justify an existence that is without meaning or purpose. and all of them as artificial as the matrix itself. although, only a human mind could invent something as insipid as love. you must be able to see it, mr. anderson, you must know it by now! you can't win, it's pointless to keep fighting! why, mr. anderson, why, why do you persist?

pop culture (Redux)

I saw the palm tungsten t. Pretty but ridiculously expensive. I'm still steadfast that I won't be buying another piece of electronic equipment ever again. Though I sold my palm m100 today and have become subsiquently disorganised. At least I still have a television.
I have watched more hours of television than anybody in my household. It's my source of knowledge, my eye upon the world. Though I have no idea why christina aguleria has this obsession with grabbing he hair every minute. Swinging her hands all over the place like a monkey. THough it can be considered a good thing in certain circumstances. Britney featuring Madonna? wtf. Never though that'd happen but I have seen worst things happen in war torn Bagdad aka the new iraq.
Everybody you see on television is substancially rich. It does not surprice me any more. Either they are insanely rich or they are just absolutely richer than you are. Which clearly doesn't matter any how because usually it just a matter of substituting one set of problems for another. REality tv has it highs and it's lows. Head no good?

Sure, I love the fact that so many people read my page. What red-blooded web publisher wouldn't love 12,000 hits on their personal site? But you see, hit counts aren't what it's all about. It's about connecting.
I don't publish this thing to attract thousands of mindless surfers. I publish it out of some strange urge to let my friends (and anyone else who stumbles upon it) know what's on my mind when it comes to technology and the web. I keep doing it because occasionally a friend will send me some feedback, telling me I'm absolutely wrong (or absolutely right), and that I should get back to work (or quit my job and do this full time).

Well, I did it. I bit the bullet and purchased a 30GB Apple iPod. And...it's cool as hell. I partially paid for it by ripping all of my CDs to my computer, and then selling them. Now, all those CDs are in the plam of my hand on my iPod. Sure, the moral/legal implications are offensive, but when did I ever claim to have morals?

dooce on boobs (Redux)

My boobs are perhaps the most glaring side effect of second trimester pregnancy. I marvel at them daily, primarily because I’ve always wanted boobs, more than I ever wanted Malibu Barbie or front row tickets to a Debbie Gibson concert. If the 11-yr old Heather had known that the pregnant 28-yr old Heather was going to have so much glorious boobage, the 11-yr old Heather never would have worn that poorly designed padded bra for so many months

Hanging around (Redux)

I had one of those weekends. You know the one where a girl invites you somewhere and you go and it's all like crazy?
I had nothing better to do still (considing that my computer was without hardrive :( ). Keeping my evenings free usually is my top priority. That and waking up early in the morning which never seems to happen because I stay out late at night and or hangout in front of my computer doing nothing. It can't even be decribed as hanging out still cause I don't hang. I don't know how to.

five more seconds (Redux)

I've started listening to music on internet radio recently. Mostly trance, mood, techno slash whatever I can find. It appeals to me more if it's trapped in 50 megabyte mp3 files. Ordered by date, with nice little playlists in text files. But I listen none the less.
The further it is away, the better. The music doesn't even have to be in english. The less talking the better. Most of it can't even be found locally, in any CD outlet, drug store or otherwise. Songs such as; One More Day by Floris, or tif by ilo.
Probably the best thing to come out since cassette, portable radio players and the apple ipod.
